Introduction To Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha

Much before independence i.e. as early as 1918, Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, visualized the need of a link language between the northern and southern states of the country, in the interest of unity and integrity of the nation. He thought Hindi is spoken by the biggest section of the people; it could be the link language. He founded Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha in Madras with the purpose of propagating Hindi in the southern states of the country in the year 1918 and he was its life time President. Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri, Smt. Indira Gandhi, Shri Rajiv Gandhi,Shri P.V. Narasimha Rao, Shri R. Venkatraman, Shri M. V. Rajshekharan, Justice (Dr.) V. S. Malimath, were the past Presidents of the Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha. At present, Hon’ble Shri. V. Muraleedharan, Union Minister of State for External Affairs & Parliamentary Affairs of India, is the President.

Hindi Language became the official language from the date of commencement of the Constitution of India. Propagation of Hindi in the Southern states was a dire necessity as contemplated in Article 351 of the Constitution. Keeping the above aims and objects and the situation in view and also the noble work done by Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha from the year 1918, the Govt. of India declared the Institution as an Institution of National Importance by an Act of Parliament (Act No. 14 of 1964).

The Homoeopathic System

The Homoeopathic System of Medicine is comparatively a new system of medicine with a history of more than 200 years old, introduced by a German Doctor, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, M.D. who worked on the old principle of Similia Similibus Curenter (likes cured by likes) (Sanskrit-SamahaShamayati). Although this system is new, it is rapidly growing and spreading far and wide. It is especially suited to the temperament and conditions of the people of India. It is a system of medicine which can easily reach the rural areas where medical aid at reasonable cost is practically not available. Homoeopathic drugs are not only cheap, easy to administer but also trouble free. They are potent enough to cure the most of chronic diseases, which were once dismissed as incurable. They not only relieve complaints of the diseases but also treat the cause of the same. Homoeopathic medicine can also remove the burden of hereditary tendencies in the patients. Sure enough, the Homoeopath uses surgery, but only in a few cases which require the doctor’s scalpel. A Homoeopathcan eliminate the sufferings of millions, provided he is duly trained. Such training is the aim andobjective of Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha’s Dr. B. D. Jatti Homoeopathic Medical College, Hospital & Post Graduate Research Centre.
